Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On Wednesday, September 27, 2023, Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Squad Deputy D. Joyce was able to locate and arrest Christopher David Quattlebaum for his 14 outstanding Warrants. The warrants were for several Felony and Misdemeanor charges over the past year. The most recent warrant stemmed from an incident on August 5, 2023, when Deputy M. Sharpe with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Quattlebaum. Quattlebaum waited for the deputy to approach the vehicle before speeding off at a high rate of speed, which led to a vehicle chase into neighboring counties. Due to Quattlebaum being positively identified as the driver, the pursuit was canceled, and arrest warrants were secured for him.
Warrant Squad Deputy Joyce was assigned to the warrants and began to gather information on Quattlebaum and the locations he was known to frequent.
On Wednesday, September 27, 2023, Deputy Joyce was able to positively identify a location where Christopher Quattlebaum was living, 112 South Oakland Avenue in Statesville.
Undercover deputies conducted surveillance on the residence. A short time later, Quattlebaum was spotted standing outside of the home.
Once positively identified, uniformed deputies approached the home and apprehended the suspect without incident.
While searching the suspect, the deputies located Cocaine and Marijuana, which were packaged in a manner consistent with the sale and delivery of the narcotics.
Deputy Joyce then transported Quattlebaum to the Iredell County Detention Center, where he was served with a total of 14 Outstanding Warrants and Orders for Arrest.
Magistrate T. Thompson issued Christopher David Quattlebaum a 182,000.00 dollar secured bond on these charges
