Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On Friday, September 15, 2023, the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by a Statesville business owner in reference to an employee stealing from the company. The business owner reported that the employee, Fred Nathaniel Gregory, had been using a company-issued fuel card for personal use.
The case was assigned to Detective Olson with the Criminal Investigations Division for further investigation. Detective Olson interviewed witnesses and recovered video and records of the fuel transactions for the card.
Detective Olson learned that Gregory had illegally used his employer’s company fuel card 32 times dating back to January 2021. With this evidence, arrest warrants were obtained for Gregory for 32 felony counts of Larceny by Employee.
Gregory was arrested on September 19, 2023, and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center where he was brought before Magistrate T. Thompson and issued a 75,000.00 secured bond.
