There are 2 ways to order a death certificate:
We receive many calls about handling estate matters, such as the disbursement of motor vehicles, real property, monies or pensions. These matters are usually settled during the estate process. For more information on how to handle an estate, the North Carolina court system has published a pamphlet (PDF) that explains the administration of estates. You may wish to contact the Estates Department of the Iredell Clerk of Superior Court at 704-832-6604.
If you wish to obtain photocopies of vital records for genealogy purposes, please send us a formal request through the mail. Attached to this formal request should be $1 for postage, or a preaddressed and stamped envelope.
Persons doing family research can access our online database. Please note, you will not be able to access the actual image of a death record.
